The Shreveport Medical Society Physician Revitalization Program (PRP) has been established to provide support for physician well-being in the community.  Surveys reveal that physician well-being is on the decline due to professional burnout, defined as overwhelming exhaustion, cynicism, and detachment as well as a lack of accomplishment and effectiveness.  According to the latest research, approximately half of all physicians suffer from professional burnout, which can lead to medical errors, relationship problems, depression, addiction, and other mental illness.  The vision of the PRP is to implement a community-wide program that contributes to the revitalization of physician medical practice for the purpose of restoring joy, happiness, and life balance to the profession.

Join the PRP for the first of a series of evening events, structured to provide useful information for the physician presented by local experts, in addition to conversation and camaraderie among local physicians about the challenges of practicing medicine in 2019.
